Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aaron Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyron Woodley!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Dean Styles and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Woodley sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Anderson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Woodley leaves Anderson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Woodley looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Anderson!

Woodley goes for an armbar but Anderson turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Anderson.
Anderson throwing strikes from guard but Woodley blocks nicely.
Anderson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Woodley has his hands on Anderson's head, controlling the position.
Anderson with a flurry of punches that miss.
Woodley looking to control.
Woodley pulls Anderson in close to prevent any damage.

Tyron Woodley has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Anderson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Woodley counters with a nice double leg into side control. Anderson won't be happy with that.
Woodley really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anderson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Anderson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Woodley remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Woodley scores with a couple of short elbows.
Woodley is looking to take a break and control but Anderson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Anderson is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Woodley scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Anderson to see if he's OK.
Woodley trying to control the position but Anderson is working away.
Anderson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Woodley has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Woodley shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Anderson is trying to defend but Woodley finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Woodley is just content to waste time from the top position. Anderson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Woodley trying to control the position from guard on top but Anderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Woodley got a little sloppy there for a moment and Anderson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Woodley has managed to get both his arms back between Anderson's legs - danger averted.
Anderson is breathing heavily.
Woodley with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Anderson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Woodley is aware though and is defending well.

Anderson working for a triangle but Woodley defends it easily.
Woodley stays in close to Anderson's body and controls the position.

Woodley landing some decent shots from guard.
Anderson being controlled here, momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyron Woodley dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



The fight moves into the clinch position.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Woodley.
Woodley slows down the pace here.
Woodley works on Anderson's body with a couple of short punches.
Woodley stalling against the cage.

Woodley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Woodley throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Anderson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Woodley is in Anderson's guard.

Anderson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Woodley gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Woodley postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Woodley is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Woodley gets to his feet. Anderson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Woodley scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Woodley tries to stand and escape but Anderson actually recovers to full guard.
Woodley distracts Anderson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Woodley trying to control but Anderson is working from the bottom.
Woodley lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Woodley has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Anderson is proving hard to escape from.

Woodley slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tyron Woodley hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Anderson has his takedown stuffed

and Woodley counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Woodley lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Woodley stands up from Anderson's guard - Woodley perhaps looking for a knockout.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Woodley closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Woodley lands in his opponent's guard.

Woodley stands up and waves to Anderson to follow him.

Woodley darts in and clinches Anderson up against the cage.

Woodley decides to pull guard.
Woodley looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Anderson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Woodley looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Anderson drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Anderson seems to have locked his on tight now - Woodley screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Anderson, as he picks up the win!
