Begeman comes to the cage accompanied by Watcher. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Begeman digs a good body shot into Sugawara's ribs.
Begeman sizes up Sugawara with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

It looks like Naoto Sugawara has been cut.
Begeman with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Sugawara throws a leg kick but Begeman sees it coming and moves out of range.
Begeman falls off balance throwing a combination
and Sugawara counters with a lovely straight right hand!

and Sugawara counters with a good low kick that Begeman was not able to check.

Begeman pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Begeman throws a series of strikes that have Sugawara backpedaling.

Sugawara thuds his right hand into Begeman's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Sugawara missing with a left hand there. Begeman was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Sugawara stuns Begeman with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

and Begeman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Begeman lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sugawara has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sugawara and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Begeman fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Begeman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sugawara swats him away and circles back towards the center.
