Spiegel has chosen Tank by The Seatbelts as his entrance music. Emilio Martinez could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Spike Spiegel's chin.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Spiegel sprawls well initially but Martinez persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Spiegel tries to kick Martinez off but Martinez keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Martinez missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Martinez is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Martinez prevents Spiegel from standing back up.
Martinez gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Martinez bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Spiegel looks to score with a jab to the body but Martinez is just out of range.
Martinez throws a sloppy head kick and Spiegel moves out of range easily.
Spiegel is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Martinez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Spiegel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Martinez circles away quickly and effectively.
The fighters circling - Spiegel throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Donk. Spiegel catches Martinez right on the button with a cross.
Martinez steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Spiegel.
Martinez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Martinez throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Martinez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Martinez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Martinez stands up over Spiegel, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Martinez working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Spiegel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Martinez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Martinez tries to free his leg and advance position but Spiegel is retaining full guard.

Martinez wants to control from the top but Spiegel keeps moving.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Spiegel is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Spike Spiegel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spiegel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Martinez circles away quickly and effectively.
Martinez tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Spiegel is able to avoid easily.
Martinez drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Spiegel moves into range and connects with a jab.
Martinez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
The fighters circling - Spiegel throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
A slow jab from Spiegel misses its intended target.
Spiegel misses with a hook. Martinez ducked under it nicely.
Spiegel throws a lazy right hand but Martinez sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Spiegel wants to stay close but Martinez steps back to make room for something. Spiegel seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Martinez and Spiegel drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!
