Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rio Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Swift (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by Bob Marley - Smoke Two Joints. Rio Gracie could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Chuck Swift's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rio Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chuck Swift!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jorge Garcia and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swift lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Gracie backs up against the cage.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Swift as he avoids it easily.
Swift lands with a kick to the temple. Gracie shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"


It looks like Rio Gracie has been cut.
Swift throws a right hand that Gracie ducks under and follows up with a left that Gracie also avoids with ease.
Swift scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Swift throws a lazy right hand but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gracie slips a jab and a cross from Swift.
Gracie closes the distance and clinches up with Swift, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes Swift against the cage but Swift circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Gracie shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Gracie looks to land a strike but Swift avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Swift keeps moving.
Gracie might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Swift bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gracie's guard.

Swift drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gracie manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Swift has Gracie in his guard.
Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Swift looking to control.
Swift is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gracie postures up.

Gracie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Gracie looking to sit in guard and control but Swift gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Gracie has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Swift has passed into side control.

The strikes coming from Swift are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie is working to avoid the ground and pound but Swift connects with a decent elbow.
Gracie regains half guard.

Swift avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Swift is looking to work some ground and pound but Gracie has wrist control.

Swift throws a big right hand that misses.
Swift cracks Gracie with a solid left hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Swift accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Swift missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Gracie has momentary wrist control but Swift slips an elbow through the middle.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gracie looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Swift trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chuck Swift dominated that round.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Gracie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Swift swivels and escapes.
Swift throws a series of strikes that have Gracie backpedaling.
Gracie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Swift defends it nicely.
Swift looks to land a right hand but Gracie moved out of range.
Gracie shoots in for a double leg but Swift sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rio Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Swift scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


Gracie is rocked!
Swift steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Gracie is out on his feet! Swift sets himself and nearly takes Gracie's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Chuck Swift!
