The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brzi closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kanholdzi quickly recovers to half guard.
Kanholdzi has hold of Brzi's hands but Brzi slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Brzi with the ground and pound but Kanholdzi uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Brzi postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kanholdzi is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Brzi, into his guard.

That's time! Kanholdzi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Brzi crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kanholdzi - the referee stops the clock and Brzi gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kanholdzi. Brzi manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Kanholdzi gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Kanholdzi apologises and we restart here on the feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kanholdzi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
