Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marco Ruas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alvaro De Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ruas might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Megadeth - Symphony of Destruction. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marco Ruas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alvaro De Silva! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Ruas wants to control but De Silva is keeping busy and won't allow it. Ruas manages to get to full guard.
De Silva with a flurry of punches that miss. De Silva is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ruas is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ruas has escaped and now he's on top! Ruas loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruas tries to free his leg and advance position but De Silva is retaining full guard. Ruas trying to control but De Silva is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ruas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ruas avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ruas looking to sit in guard and control but De Silva gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. De Silva drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ruas looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ruas looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ruas!
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. You can see the frustration on De Silva's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. De Silva isn't going anywhere. Ruas working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
De Silva is trying to control Ruas's posture but Ruas avoids it. De Silva looks gassed! Ruas tries to move into full mount but can't pass De Silva's legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ruas fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Ruas lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear De Silva down.
Ruas has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for De Silva! Ruas has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! De Silva is forced to tap!
