Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johny Vegas!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Day clinches with his opponent.
Day misses with a hook from the clinch.
Day tries to land a knee to the head but Vegas blocks with his arms.
Vegas has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Day avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Day effectively controlling the action here.
Day with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Vegas trying to control the position but instead, Day has worked for underhooks and has pushed Vegas into the cage.
Vegas wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Day pulls guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Vegas pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Day is keeping the position for now.
Vegas trying to control but Day is working from the bottom.
Vegas prevents Day from getting back to his feet.

Vegas tries to free his leg and advance position but Day is retaining full guard.
Vegas postures up in Day's guard and throws a big left but Day blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vegas won't allow Day to sweep him here.
Vegas passes into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vegas trying to control from Day's half guard. Day has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Day bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vegas's guard.

Day slips nicely into half guard.

Day is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Day decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Vegas clinches with his opponent.
Vegas fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Day lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Day lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Day lands an elbow inside that Vegas shrugs off.

Day connects with a nasty looking knee right to Vegas's face.

Day is breathing heavily.
Vegas can't break the clinch.

A frustrated look appears on Vegas's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Vegas goes for a takedown attempt but Day pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Charlie Day has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johny Vegas.
Vegas throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Vegas fails to land the takedown.
Day shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Vegas decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Day's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Vegas is sitting in close to Day's body. Day has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Vegas is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Vegas is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Day.
