Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lath Hoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Fensch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fensch is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Waking the demon. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Brian Fensch enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lath Hoy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Fensch!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fensch tries to clinch up.

Fensch moves into the clinch successfully.

Fensch manages to break the clinch.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Fensch, as that shot connected.


It looks like Lath Hoy has been cut.
Fensch throws a head kick but Hoy moves out of range.
Hoy avoids the body shot from Fensch.
Brian Fensch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hoy tries to clinch there but Fensch circles away.
Fensch throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Fensch misses with a straight right.
The fighters circling - Fensch throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Fensch is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Fensch doesn't manage to clinch there - Hoy circles away.
Fensch clinches but Hoy breaks the clinch

and Hoy counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hoy.
Hoy postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hoy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hoy showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Fensch uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Hoy avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hoy defending well as Fensch loads up on a big left hand.
Fensch misses with a wild combination.
Fensch clinches but Hoy breaks the clinch

and Hoy counters with a nice double leg into side control. Fensch won't be happy with that.
An elbow from Hoy crashes against the mat.
Fensch is pushing Hoy's head away, looking to escape. Hoy manages to hold on to the position though.
Hoy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fensch keeps working.
Fensch prevents Hoy from moving into mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hoy throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Hoy tries to advance to mount but Fensch denies him.

Hoy is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Fensch knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Hoy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Hoy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fensch slips a straight right by Hoy.
Fensch throws a lazy head kick

and Hoy decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fensch's guard.
Hoy slips nicely into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lath Hoy dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Lath Hoy's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Hoy closes the distance looking to clinch
and Fensch counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hoy swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Fensch counters with a lovely straight right hand!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hoy.
Hoy lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Hoy shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.


Hoy is rocked!
Hoy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Oh Hoy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fensch throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hoy.
Fensch circles away from the clinch attempt
and Fensch counters with a leg kick.
Hoy seems to have got his legs back now.
Fensch checks the leg kick nicely there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fensch throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Fensch has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Fensch pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hoy goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Fensch misses with an uppercut. Hoy saw that one coming.

Fensch moves into range and clinches up with Hoy.
Fensch wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hoy has him pressed against the cage.
Stalling in the clinch from Fensch.
Fensch is breathing heavily.

Fensch breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hoy fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hoy wants to clinch
and Fensch counters with a two punch combo.
Hoy fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Fensch is out of range.
Fensch throws a chopping leg kick but Hoy manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hoy.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Fensch wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hoy is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fensch has escaped the position, nice work there.
A lull in the action here as Hoy stalls from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fensch bucks up and tries to throw Hoy off but instead Hoy has got his back!
Hoy trying to control.
Hoy biding his time, controlling Fensch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Hoy has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Fensch has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Hoy looking for the RNC.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brian Fensch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Lath Hoy's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Hoy dodges the punch combination from Fensch.
Fensch swats away the attempt to clinch by Hoy.
Fensch pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hoy moves out of range of the strikes.
Fensch misses with a body punch

and Hoy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Fensch really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hoy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hoy throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Hoy wants to pass the guard but Fensch is keeping the position.
Hoy trying to control but Fensch is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hoy is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Fensch is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Hoy throwing strikes but missing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hoy trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Hoy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fensch is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Hoy blocks a head kick by Fensch.
Hoy avoids the head kick by Fensch.
Fensch takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Hoy drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Fensch is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hoy is controlling him.
Hoy throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Fensch wants to stand and escape but Hoy is having none of it.
Hoy looking to pass the guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hoy trying to control the position from guard on top but Fensch is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hoy works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fensch is staying active underneath Hoy, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Hoy throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lath Hoy showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Hoy has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
