Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mick Frey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Clifford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mick Frey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Max Clifford!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clifford shoots for a double leg takedown but Frey sprawls well. He's pushed Clifford's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Clifford misses with the combination.
Frey avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Max Clifford seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Frey shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Clifford wants to improve his position but Frey is controlling well.

Frey is working for a kimura but Clifford is defending it quite comfortably.
Frey stops Clifford from getting back to his feet.

Frey is looking to take a break and control but Clifford is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Frey in particular looking to stall.
Frey uses his free foot to push down on Clifford's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Clifford.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Frey swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Clifford is now in Frey's guard. A big mistake from Frey there, giving up the dominant position!

Frey manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Frey wants to control the pace but Clifford is squirming around nicely.
Frey throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Clifford slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Ground and pound from Frey.
Frey is looking to take a break and control but Clifford is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Frey seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Clifford fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Clifford throws a right and a left that Frey avoids nicely.
Mick Frey is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Clifford blocks a head kick by Frey.

Frey shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Frey showed some decent athleticism there.
Clifford has hold of Frey's hands but Frey slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Frey content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Clifford is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Frey wants to control but Clifford is keeping him busy.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Mick Frey just wasn't active enough.

Frey moves into the clinch successfully.
Clifford has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Clifford wants to break the clinch but can't.
Frey tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Clifford smiles and moves away.

Clifford looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Clifford throws a right hand that Frey ducks under and follows up with a left that Frey also avoids with ease.
Clifford is breathing heavily.

Clifford throws a right and a left that both miss.

Frey takes the fight into the clinch.

Frey pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Clifford throws a series of punches but Frey moves out of range.

Frey fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Clifford, pushing him back against the cage.

Clifford working hard to break the clinch.
Clifford has had enough of the clinch but Frey keeps him there for the moment.

Frey breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
No joy there for Clifford, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Frey showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Clifford.
Frey throws a front kick that sends Clifford stumbling back into the cage.
A head kick from Frey lands but Clifford takes it in his stride.
Clifford throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Frey lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Clifford backs up against the cage.

Frey closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Clifford quickly recovers to half guard.
Frey is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Frey looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mick Frey dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Frey postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Clifford to stand up.
Clifford lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Clifford.

and Frey counters with a single leg into guard. Clifford didn't expect that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Frey wanted to stand there but Clifford had control of the position.

Frey is looking to advance position but Clifford has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Clifford jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Frey manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Frey wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

And that's the end of the fight!
Mick Frey showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Frey has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
