The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makisig shoots in but Krkic avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Makisig tries to close the distance and clinch but Krkic swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Makisig missing with a left hand there. Krkic was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Nice takedown defense from Krkic. No joy for Makisig on that attempt.
Krkic shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Makisig's guard.
Makisig is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Krkic defends well.
Makisig is trying to control the position but Krkic postures up.

Krkic seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Makisig does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Krkic is thwarting Makisig's attempts to control the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Krkic wants to stand up but Makisig is controlling the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Makisig tries to strike from the bottom.
Makisig looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Makisig throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Krkic wants to stand and escape but instead Makisig has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Krkic thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
