Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joosep Toots (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Smitty McHooligan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Toots comes to the cage accompanied by dogs out. Joosep Toots has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joosep Toots!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Smitty McHooligan!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toots lands the left hand.
Toots throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Toots throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
McHooligan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Toots circles away.
Toots connects with a good right hand that stumbles McHooligan. McHooligan circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

McHooligan moves into the clinch.
McHooligan misses with a punch on the inside.
McHooligan fails to pull guard.
McHooligan has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Toots is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Joosep Toots has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Smitty McHooligan.

McHooligan has Toots pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. McHooligan pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Toots tumbling to the mat - McHooligan dives into Toots's guard.
McHooligan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

McHooligan decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Toots stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Toots wants it to stay on the feet.
Toots avoids the body shot from McHooligan.
Toots scores with a hook to the body. McHooligan takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
McHooligan misses with a body kick.
Joosep Toots is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Toots lands a jab-cross combination.
McHooligan is looking to clinch.

and Toots counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps McHooligan thinking.
McHooligan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

and Toots counters with a nice body shot.

McHooligan looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Toots!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McHooligan controlling the pace for now.
You get the feeling that Toots really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Toots is breathing heavily.
McHooligan lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
McHooligan won't let Toots get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
McHooligan breaks from Toots's wrist control and lands an elbow.

McHooligan is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
McHooligan jabs Toots right on the nose. Toots blinks but takes it well.

McHooligan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Toots avoids it really well and circles away.
McHooligan misses with a hook to the body
enabling Toots to counter with a crisp jab.
Toots has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by McHooligan.
McHooligan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Toots paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McHooligan throws a big shot that misses.
McHooligan tries to clinch there but Toots circles away.

McHooligan gets a clinch.

McHooligan manages to break the clinch.
Toots takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
McHooligan misses with a looping right.
Toots uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McHooligan.
McHooligan shoots in looking for a takedown. Toots tries to sprawl out of it but McHooligan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Toots manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
McHooligan looks to land a combination but Toots avoids it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McHooligan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
McHooligan wants to clinch up but Toots keeps it at a distance.
McHooligan shoots for a takedown but Toots saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
McHooligan lands with a thumping leg kick.

McHooligan gets a takedown into half guard.
McHooligan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McHooligan is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
McHooligan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Smitty McHooligan dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



The fight moves into the clinch position.
McHooligan keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Toots's efforts to push away.

McHooligan has clasped his hands together around Toots's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
McHooligan passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Toots!
McHooligan controlling the pace for now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McHooligan working for a guillotine from mount but Toots is in no mood to give up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
McHooligan controlling the position easily from mount.
Toots knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McHooligan on the ground.
Let's hope that McHooligan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

McHooligan looking to control and managing it successfully.
McHooligan postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Toots looks a forlorn figure.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McHooligan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
You get the feeling that Toots really doesn't like being in this position too much.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Smitty McHooligan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Toots slaps away a takedown attempt from McHooligan, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Toots has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from McHooligan.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Toots enables McHooligan to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Toots manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
McHooligan slips nicely into half guard.
McHooligan stalling.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
McHooligan works his way into side control.

You can see the frustration on Toots's face as McHooligan controls the position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Toots on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Toots tries to get out of the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Smitty McHooligan was stalling too much, according to the referee.
McHooligan misses with a double jab.

McHooligan instigates a clinch.
McHooligan tries for a takedown. No joy.
Toots blocks an elbow strike.

McHooligan jumps into guard, dragging Toots to the mat.
McHooligan is pulling down on Toots's head. It's preventing any offense from Toots, at least for the moment.
Toots wants to get up but he can't break McHooligan's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
McHooligan seems keen to control Toots's posture.

Toots would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
McHooligan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Toots might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
McHooligan is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Toots is trying to stand.
McHooligan working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Still in half guard, McHooligan seems content to control.

McHooligan decides to stand and escape the position.
A telegraphed right hand from McHooligan misses the target.
Toots dodges the punch combination from McHooligan.
A looping hook to the body misses from McHooligan. Toots does a little dance to reset his feet.
Some wild striking there from McHooligan.
McHooligan plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!


It looks like Joosep Toots has been cut.
McHooligan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Joosep Toots has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Smitty McHooligan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Toots avoids the head kick by McHooligan.

And that's the end of the fight!
Smitty McHooligan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well McHooligan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
