Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Freddy Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Giles Coran! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coran will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Smith looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Coran! Smith tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Smith has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
It looks like Giles Coran has been cut. Smith get's back to his feet. Coran scores with a one two! Smith had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Coran lands with a kick to the temple. Smith shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Smith shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Coran's guard. Smith gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Smith scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Smith content to control rather than advance.

That's three minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Smith throws a strike but Coran avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Smith throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Smith trying to control but Coran is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Freddy Smith just wasn't active enough. Smith closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Coran quickly recovers to half guard. Smith is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Coran doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Smith. Smith is looking to take a break and control but Coran is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Smith is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Coran! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Freddy Smith dominated that round. The cut man is working on Giles Coran's cut. That's time! Smith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Coran looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Smith throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Coran tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Smith is in Coran's guard. Smith controlling from the top position. Coran should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smith accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith content to stall in guard here. Smith wants to control from the top but Coran keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Freddy Smith just wasn't active enough. Smith looks for a takedown but Coran sprawls well. Smith closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Coran to the mat! Coran manages to get full guard. Coran is looking to stand up but Smith isn't so interested in that idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith sitting in guard here, content to control. Smith wants to control from the top but Coran keeps moving. Freddy Smith overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Freddy Smith wasn't doing enough on the ground. Coran throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Smith darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Smith content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith is trying to control the action in half guard but Coran is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Freddy Smith dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Giles Coran's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Smith forces the positional change into back control. Coran has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Smith. Coran is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Smith gets his way!
Smith is riding his opponent, not letting Coran buck him off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith wants to control but Coran manages to buck him off and is now in Smith's guard! Nice work there by Coran!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Smith controls Coran momentarily but Coran frees himself. Coran being controlled here momentarily. Coran preventing the sweep.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Freddy Smith just wasn't active enough. Coran throws a nice looking combination but Smith bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Coran throws a series of punches but Smith avoids them all with ease. Coran lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Coran throws a right and a left that both miss. Smith closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Smith lands in his opponent's guard. Smith is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith is looking to work some ground and pound but Coran has wrist control. Smith lands a couple of elbows. Smith slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith trying to control but Coran is working from the bottom. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Smith is really struggling to control Coran but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Freddy Smith has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Coran swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into Coran's guard. Coran preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Freddy Smith showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Smith, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
