Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trent Hinkelton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Murilo Moreno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hinkelton comes to the cage accompanied by '2001 A Space Odyssey' Theme . Murilo Moreno will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Trent Hinkelton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Murilo Moreno! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moreno feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Hinkelton's calf. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Moreno. Moreno doesn't manage to clinch there - Hinkelton circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Hinkelton. No joy for Moreno on that attempt. Moreno tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hinkelton swivels and escapes. Trent Hinkelton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Murilo Moreno. Moreno tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hinkelton swats him away and circles back towards the center. Hinkelton scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hinkelton is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Moreno has escaped the position, nice work there. Moreno struggling a bit here. Hinkelton wants to control but Moreno is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moreno is trying to control Hinkelton's posture but Hinkelton avoids it. Hinkelton is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Moreno knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Hinkelton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Moreno keeps working. Moreno is trying to control Hinkelton's posture but Hinkelton avoids it. That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Moreno is looking for a sweep. You can see the frustration on Moreno's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Hinkelton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Moreno keeps working. Moreno is trying to control Hinkelton's posture but Hinkelton avoids it. Hinkelton tries to move to mount but Moreno blocks the move with his legs. Moreno wants to control but Hinkelton postures up. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Moreno sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hinkelton trying to control the pace.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hinkelton shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Hinkelton is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hinkelton is pressing down on Moreno's thigh, looking to free his foot. Moreno is holding on for now. Hinkelton is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Moreno is just riding it out for now. Hinkelton eventually gives up the hold.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hinkelton passes the guard and advances to mount! Moreno avoids a series of strikes thrown by Hinkelton.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hinkelton looking to ground and pound but Moreno is blocking nicely. Moreno is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Hinkelton wants to control but Moreno has made it back to half guard. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Trent Hinkelton dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Moreno has his takedown stuffed and Hinkelton counters with a single leg into guard. Moreno didn't expect that. Hinkelton postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hinkelton is pushing down on Moreno's leg trying to pass to half guard. Moreno is fighting to maintain full guard but Hinkelton has managed to sneak the leg through. Hinkelton thows a huge punch but Moreno dodges it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hinkelton throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Moreno blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hinkelton. Moreno is positioning himself well to prevent Hinkelton advancing to mount. Moreno is staying active underneath Hinkelton, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Moreno makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Murilo Moreno seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Moreno is breathing heavily. Hinkelton keeps the fight on the outside. Hinkelton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Hinkelton wants to clinch and Moreno counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Moreno gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Moreno keeping moving, preventing Hinkelton from controlling successfully. Hinkelton throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Moreno works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hinkelton pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Moreno is keeping the position for now. Hinkelton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Moreno pushes Hinkelton off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Both fighters circling a little - Moreno finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moreno shoots in and bounces Hinkelton off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Hinkelton working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Moreno. Hinkelton working a defensive guard but Moreno manages to pass into side control anyway.
Moreno wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hinkelton keeps working. Moreno stands up and we're back to a striking position. Moreno has his takedown stuffed and Hinkelton counters with a takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hinkelton takes a little break here. Moreno wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Trent Hinkelton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hinkelton trying to control the position but Moreno is working away. Moreno sneaks back into half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hinkelton is looking for a kimura here.
Hinkelton seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Moreno does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Moreno doesn't succeed with the takedown so Hinkelton counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Moreno is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hinkelton is aware though and is defending well. Moreno controls Hinkelton momentarily but Hinkelton frees himself. Hinkelton is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Hinkelton in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hinkelton wants to control from the top but Moreno keeps moving. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moreno avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Hinkelton postures up in Moreno's guard and throws a big left but Moreno blocks it. Moreno is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Moreno looking for a sweep. Not yet Moreno, not yet. Hinkelton wants to control from the top but Moreno keeps moving.
Trent Hinkelton has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Moreno is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hinkelton sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Hinkelton wants to clinch up but Moreno keeps it at a distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Moreno attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Moreno wants to clinch up but Hinkelton keeps it at a distance. Hinkelton closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Moreno actively working from the bottom here. Hinkelton wants to control but Moreno is keeping him busy. Moreno is trying to control but can't.
Hinkelton is looking to advance position but Moreno won't allow it. Hinkelton seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hinkelton moves into full mount! Moreno won't be happy about that! Moreno is trying to escape the mount.
Moreno slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Trent Hinkelton is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hinkelton wants to free his trapped foot but Moreno is holding on for dear life with his legs. Hinkelton has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Hinkelton wants to control the pace but Moreno is squirming around nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moreno tries to reverse the position but Hinkelton maintains control. Hinkelton controlling his opponent. Hinkelton has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Hinkelton tries to control but Moreno wriggling away.
And that's the end of the fight! Trent Hinkelton showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hinkelton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
