PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Niko Meek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Artsi Lintsi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meek comes to the cage accompanied by chicken. Lintsi is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Pentagram Burns. Artsi Lintsi told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meek leaves Lintsi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Meek bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Meek really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Meek looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Lintsi is trying to improve his position.
Lintsi is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Meek working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Lintsi is looking for a sweep.

Lintsi parries the strikes from Meek easily there. Meek is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Lintsi to escape.

Meek will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee asks Meek politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Meek prefers to stall for the moment though.

Lintsi is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Meek locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Lintsi is forced to tap!
