Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from karl.
karl avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
karl tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Machida Alves counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Machida Alves wants to lay and pray for a moment but karl keeps working.
karl actively working from the bottom here.
karl kicks off Machida Alves and gets to his feet.
karl misses with a head kick.
Machida Alves misses with a wild body shot.
karl gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Machida Alves checks a leg kick.
karl goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Lyoto Machida Alves has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

karl throws a head kick but Machida Alves moves out of range.
karl throws a head kick that Machida Alves semi-blocks.
Machida Alves doesn't manage to clinch there - karl circles away.
karl tries a head kick but it misses.
karl looks gassed!

karl rushes Machida Alves and presses him up against the cage.
Machida Alves is working for takedown but karl is calmly controlling the position for now.
karl is fighting off a takedown attempt but Machida Alves is just too persistent for him and manages to trip karl to the mat. karl regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
karl is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Machida Alves postures up in karl's guard and throws a big left but karl blocks it.
Machida Alves drops back looking for a leg! karl is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and karl manages to kick Machida Alves off! Machida Alves jumps back into karl's guard.
Machida Alves in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Machida Alves throwing strikes but missing.
Machida Alves prevents karl from getting back to his feet.
Machida Alves passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Machida Alves is trying to get an arm triangle but karl is defending well.
karl tries to escape but Machida Alves is in control.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Machida Alves in side control, throwing shots but karl defends.
karl really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Machida Alves. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Machida Alves tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Machida Alves has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
karl is not content to let Machida Alves control the position.
karl managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Machida Alves.
Machida Alves has hold of karl's arm. He's looking for a kimura. karl seems comfortable defending it but Machida Alves has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! karl is real pain and he's forced to tap out! karl is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Machida Alves couldn't care less - he's delighted!
