Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marcus Moose! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mickey McFinnegan! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McFinnegan uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Moose has time to react. A punch combination from McFinnegan misses. Moose dodges the punch combination from McFinnegan.
Sloppy strikes from McFinnegan. Those never looked like landing. Mickey McFinnegan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Moose takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Moose is defended easily by McFinnegan. McFinnegan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A jab from McFinnegan does it's job there. Moose moves into the clinch. McFinnegan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Moose smiles and moves away.
McFinnegan feints a jab promting Moose to slip. McFinnegan then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Moose slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McFinnegan looks to land a body kick but Moose moved away.
That's one minute gone in the round. McFinnegan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
McFinnegan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. McFinnegan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Moose's half guard. McFinnegan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Moose doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McFinnegan. McFinnegan has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Moose defend it? McFinnegan steps over the head and cranks it - Moose is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for McFinnegan!
