Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Naomasa Yi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiro Hamadha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hamadha has chosen Slipknot - Duaity as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Naomasa Yi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiro Hamadha!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamadha fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Yi has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Hamadha displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Yi throws out the jab.
Yi misses with a looping right.
Yi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hamadha pinned against the cage. Hamadha gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Yi walks into a left hand.
The crowd cheers as Hamadha lands an impressive looking overhand right. Yi doesn't seem phased though.
Hamadha digs a good body shot into Yi's ribs.
Yi tries to clinch there but Hamadha circles away.
A head kick misses from Hamadha.
A telegraphed right hand from Yi misses the target.
Hamadha throws a sloppy head kick and Yi moves out of range easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Hamadha counters with a head kick. That will keep Yi thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Hamadha bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Yi's head.
Naomasa Yi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hamadha tests Yi's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Hamadha avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hamadha throws a head kick that Yi semi-blocks.
Hamadha lands a right hook to the body.
Yi falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hamadha counters with a nice uppercut.
Yi misses with a double jab
and Hamadha connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Hamadha is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Yi had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Yi wants to clinch but Hamadha slips to the side
and Hamadha counters with a good low kick that Yi was not able to check.

Yi takes one to the side of the head.
Yi takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Hamadha changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Hamadha defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Yi.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Naomasa Yi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hamadha's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Hamadha duly obliges.
Hamadha lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Yi missing with a left hand there. Hamadha was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Yi tries to clinch but Hamadha moves away
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Yi moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Hamadha fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Hamadha fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Yi on the side of the head.
Hiro Hamadha is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hamadha throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Hamadha wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Hamadha lands a glancing blow to the side of Yi's head.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Yi. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Hamadha moves into range and connects with a jab.

and Hamadha counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Hamadha counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Hamadha counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hamadha lands with a thumping leg kick.
Hamadha throws a series of strikes that have Yi backpedaling.
Nice body punch from Hamadha.
Hamadha lands a nice leg kick that just misses Yi's sensitive parts.
Hamadha dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Yi. That did some damage!
Yi is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Hamadha sizes up Yi with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Hamadha throws a series of strikes that have Yi backpedaling.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yi on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Yi is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

That kick from Hamadha tenderised Yi's leg. Yi is trying to keep his angry face on.
Hamadha connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Yi momentarily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hamadha connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Yi takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Yi looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
A slapping body kick lands there for Hamadha.
Hamadha stuns Yi with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hiro Hamadha dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Yi takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Hiro Hamadha seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Yi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Hamadha throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Yi has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hamadha's face.
Hamadha is trying desperately to improve position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hamadha is looking for a sweep. Yi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Yi lands a nice short elbow.
Yi passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hamadha!
Hamadha really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Yi is working for a guillotine from mount but Hamadha frees his head quite easily.

Yi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Yi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hamadha is looking to escape.
Hamadha is bucking up trying to escape but Yi cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Yi lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Yi is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hamadha is surviving well by controlling Yi's body position as best he can.

Yi is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Yi extends the arm and Hamadha is forced to tap!
