The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salsa swings for the body but Sapp moves out of range.
Sapp throws a head kick that misses.
Sapp tries to close the distance and clinch but Salsa swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Salsa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sapp was well out of range. Poor timing from Salsa.
Salsa lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sapp at a distance.

Salsa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Salsa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Salsa seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sapp for as long as he can get away with.
