PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Stark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steel comes to the cage accompanied by Saliva - Ladies and Gentlemen. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tony Stark!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel misses the jab.
Steel slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Stark drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Stark trying to control the position from guard on top but Steel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Stark uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Steel.
Steel avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Steel moves away from the strike by Stark.
Stark circles away from the clinch attempt.
Steel throws a hook to the side of Stark's head but Stark sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Steel clobbers Stark with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Steel has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Steel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stark swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Stark lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Steel!
Steel is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stark is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Steel can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Stark wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Steel, who protects the arm well.
The ground and pound from Stark seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Steel regains half guard, as Stark was trying to land strikes.
Stark moves nicely into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tony Stark showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Stark shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Steel as he avoids it easily.
Stark throws the left hand but Steel avoids the punch easily.
Stark changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Steel tries to avoid it but Stark manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Steel to the ground. Steel escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
