The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oliver scores with a jab to the head.

They are putting on a show! Oliver is standing up, even though he is in mount. Excellent takedown into side control there by Hanks. Hanks is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Oliver is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Hanks swings around for an armbar but Oliver sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Hanks's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hanks is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hanks has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Oliver is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hanks.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tommy Oliver. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Oliver, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
