Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sakari Watts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Geraldo Higgins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sakari Watts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Geraldo Higgins!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Higgins is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Watts.
Watts connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Higgins tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

and Higgins counters with a nice double leg into side control. Watts won't be happy with that.

Higgins working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Watts is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Higgins drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Watts manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Higgins has Watts in his guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Watts lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Higgins has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Higgins and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Watts shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Higgins is trying to defend but Watts finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Watts throws a right and a left that Higgins avoids nicely.

Higgins tries to roll over but Watts keeps him under control.
Watts uses his free foot to push down on Higgins's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Higgins.
Sakari Watts overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Higgins takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
