Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Muikku Sininen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Davidson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sininen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sininen lands in his opponent's guard. Davidson wants to sweep here but Sininen controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sininen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Davidson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Sininen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Sininen with a flurry of punches that miss. Davidson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Davidson looking for a sweep. Not yet Davidson, not yet. Sininen drops back looking for a leg! Davidson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Davidson manages to kick Sininen off! Sininen jumps back into Davidson's guard. Davidson working for a triangle but Sininen defends it easily.
Sininen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sininen works over Davidson with some ground and pound from guard. Davidson keeping moving, preventing Sininen from controlling successfully. Sininen with a flurry of punches that miss. Sininen wants to pass the guard but Davidson is keeping the position. Davidson working for a triangle but Sininen defends it easily.
Sininen in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Sininen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sininen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Sininen throwing strikes from guard but Davidson blocks nicely. Sininen trying to control but Davidson is working from the bottom. Davidson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sininen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davidson wants to sweep but no luck. Sininen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Davidson looks gassed! Davidson wants to sweep but no luck. Sininen with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Davidson is working an open guard so Sininen takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. No joy there for Sininen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Sininen scores with a nice hook to the head. Davidson is fighting off a takedown attempt but Sininen is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Davidson to the mat. Davidson regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Davidson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Davidson throws some shots to the body, keeping his opponent honest.

Davidson has momentary wrist control but Sininen slips an elbow through the middle. Davidson trying to strike off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sininen sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Davidson's guard. Sininen wants to pass the guard but Davidson is defending well. Davidson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Davidson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Davidson passes to side control. Davidson advances nicely into full mount. Davidson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sininen can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Davidson working for a guillotine from mount but Sininen is in no mood to give up. Sininen is in all sorts of trouble here.
The referee warns Sininen that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Sininen is rocked! Davidson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Oh Sininen is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Davidson is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Sininen is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Sininen flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Davidson anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Sininen and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Davidson slips an arm under Sininen chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Davidson has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Davidson is squeezing on Sininen like an anaconda would it's prey. Sininen fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mark Davidson!
