Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Connelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Louis Freese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Louis Freese is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexander Connelly! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Louis Freese! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Freese gets tackled into the cage by Connelly. Connelly maintains the clinch. Connelly lands with a short shot to the head. Connelly lands a body shot. Connelly fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Freese blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Freese fails to pull guard.
Connelly digs a right hand underneath Freese's ribcage. Freese let out a lung full of air as it connected. Connelly pushes Freese back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Freese tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Connelly swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Connelly fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Connelly swings wildly with an uppercut but Freese uses good head movement to avoid it. Connelly jumps into guard, dragging Freese to the mat.
Freese drops back looking for a leg! Connelly is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Connelly manages to kick Freese off! Freese jumps back into Connelly's guard. Freese postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Freese thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Connelly pulls Freese in to control the position. Connelly is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Freese is aware though and is defending well. Freese wants to pass the guard but Connelly is keeping the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Connelly is trying to keep Freese in close.

Freese jumps back into Connelly's guard. Connelly controlling Freese's posture. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Connelly is on top in guard.

Freese looks gassed! Connelly is stalling in the full guard. Freese working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Connelly doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Connelly manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Freese escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Connelly gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Connelly passes easily into side control. Nice work. Freese is trying to escape the position but Connelly is controlling the position. Connelly tries for a kimura but Freese is defending well. Connelly wants to control but Freese is keeping him busy. Connelly wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Freese, who protects the arm well. Connelly remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Freese is looking for a sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Connelly is staying tight to Freese's torso, preventing him from escaping. Freese is looking to regain half guard here but Connelly keeps moving and retains side control. Connelly trying to control the action but Freese is working from the bottom. Freese tries to buck Connelly off but Connelly is having none of it. Freese regains half guard. Connelly passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Freese! Connelly is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Freese has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Connelly is working for a guillotine from mount but Freese frees his head quite easily.

Connelly tries to close the distance and clinch but Freese swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Freese scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Connelly rushes Freese and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Freese tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Connelly lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Freese or not. Connelly misses with a short punch on the inside. Connelly swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Connelly jumps guard and drags Freese to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Connelly bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Freese's guard.

Freese is breathing heavily. Freese is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Connelly tries to free his leg and advance position but Freese is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Connelly got a little sloppy there for a moment and Freese has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Connelly has managed to get both his arms back between Freese's legs - danger averted. Connelly stands and throws Freese's legs to the side, diving into side control. Connelly moves into full mount! Connelly is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Freese to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Freese shrugs it off. Connelly controlling from the full mount. Freese working to try and regain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Freese is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Freese has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Freese tries to escape but Connelly has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Connelly lands a shot to the head. Connelly trying to control. That's four minutes gone in the round. Connelly closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Freese did well to prevent Connelly getting side control. Freese is refusing to be controlled, as Connelly sits in half guard. Connelly content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Freese actively working from the bottom here. Connelly is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Freese doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Connelly. He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Freese really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Connelly works his way into full mount! Connelly moves to the back position. Freese is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Connelly gets his way!
Louis Freese has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
