Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray Elliot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rusty Nailes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Kavanagh and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nailes tries to close the distance and clinch but Elliot swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nailes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Elliot circles away quickly and effectively.
Nailes throws a jab when Elliot was well out of range.

Elliot looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nailes is fending him off so far but Elliot persists. Nope, Nailes circles away and we're back to standing.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Elliot connects with a nice short shot to Nailes's temple.
Nailes tries to kick Elliot off but Elliot keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Elliot is nestled in close to Nailes, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Nailes goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Rusty Nailes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Elliot shoots for a double leg takedown but Nailes sprawls well. He's pushed Elliot's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Nailes paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Horrible takedown by Elliot or perhaps it was just good defense by Nailes which made him look bad.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ray Elliot.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Elliot, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
