1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Lars Rystrom! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McAllister shoots for a takedown but Rystrom saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Rystrom tries to clinch but fails miserably and McAllister moves into the clinch. McAllister manages to break the clinch.
Rystrom tries to clinch but McAllister moves away and McAllister counters into the clinch. Nicely done. McAllister blocks an elbow strike from Rystrom.

McAllister tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rystrom just stands there and leans against the cage. McAllister gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. McAllister seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. McAllister prevents Rystrom from standing back up.

Rystrom is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McAllister pulls his head out easily. McAllister thows a huge punch but Rystrom dodges it nicely.
Well, if McAllister is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Rystrom stands up from guard. Let's bang! Rystrom lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

You can't force these things though and McAllister defends well. Rystrom had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McAllister defends it easily. Rystrom has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McAllister can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McAllister accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rystrom pushes McAllister off and scrambles back to his feet.
McAllister changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rystrom tries to avoid it but McAllister manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rystrom to the ground. Rystrom escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chip McAllister. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rystrom blocks a head kick by McAllister.
