Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Akaboshi Aida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry Bronson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aida's entrance music is Iggy Pop - The Passenger. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Akaboshi Aida! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Barry Bronson! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bronson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Aida did well to prevent Bronson getting side control. Aida is trying to maintain the position but Bronson is very close to passing his half guard. Aida is looking to improve his position.

Aida gets back to full guard.
Aida lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bronson! Aida tries to control but Bronson wriggling away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aida lands a heavy elbow. Aida working the ground and pound effectively.
Aida working for a guillotine from mount but Bronson is in no mood to give up. Aida is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Bronson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Bronson shrugs it off. Bronson takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Aida has control of Bronson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bronson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bronson taking shots to the head. Aida throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Bronson because Aida loaded up on that one. Bronson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aida. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Aida is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Bronson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Bronson! Bronson wants to stand but Aida has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Aida has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bronson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Bronson forces his way into half guard. Aida gets full guard. Aida controls Bronson momentarily but Bronson frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Bronson is fighting to break Aida's control of his arms but Aida is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Bronson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Aida is keeping the position for now. Aida is pulling down on Bronson's head to control his posture. Bronson wants to control from the top but Aida keeps moving. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Aida has his hands on Bronson's head, controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Akaboshi Aida dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Nice takedown defense from Bronson. No joy for Aida on that attempt. Aida shoots in looking for a takedown but Bronson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Aida's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Aida slips a jab and a cross from Bronson.
Aida has his takedown stuffed and Bronson counters with a two punch combo. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Akaboshi Aida. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bronson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Bronson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Aida. Aida tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bronson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Aida somewhat. Barry Bronson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bronson tries for a takedown but Aida circles away easily and Aida counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Bronson! Aida has hold of Bronson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bronson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Akaboshi Aida overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bronson is looking to improve his position but Aida isn't that keen on the idea. Aida wants to finish this one by submission but Bronson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Aida. Aida takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Aida trying to control but Bronson is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aida working away from the top, dropping strikes. Bronson is working to get back to half guard.
Bronson wants to control but Aida is having none of it. Aida raining down shots from the mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bronson has left one of his arms exposed and Aida doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Bronson screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Akaboshi Aida!
