Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Justin Case (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mahtava Emppe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Case comes to the cage accompanied by Aki & Turo - Mahtisonni. Mahtava Emppe has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Justin Case!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mahtava Emppe!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emppe throws a head kick that misses.
Emppe on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Emppe will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Emppe misses with the combination.
Emppe throws a jab when Case was well out of range.
No joy there for Emppe, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Emppe misses with a head kick.
Emppe misses with a wild body shot.
Emppe misses the jab.
Case misses with a takedown attempt - Emppe sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Case throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Emppe stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and Case counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Emppe is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Case scores with a couple of nice shots.
Case controlling the action here.
Case seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Case is trying to control. Emppe wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Emppe is trying to control but can't.
Case drops an elbow to the side of Emppe's head.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Case lands a nice short elbow.
Case has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Case seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Emppe is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Case pulls his head out easily.
Case prevents Emppe from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Case lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Case takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Case seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Case is pressing down on Emppe's thigh, looking to free his foot. Emppe is holding on for now.
Emppe wants to get back to his feet.
Case lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Case thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Case performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Case lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Case controlling the action here.
Emppe is trying to maintain the position but Case is very close to passing his half guard.
Emppe taking some punishment here, with Case in his half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Emppe can do anything to dispel that myth.

Case seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Emppe does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Case is controlling the pace.
Emppe is doing well to control the position and prevent Case from advancing to side control.
Emppe has hold of Case's hands but Case slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Case has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Emppe trying desperately to get to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Case shoots in for a takedown but Emppe shows good takedown defense.
Case has a takedown stuffed.
Emppe throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Emppe looks to score with a jab to the body but Case is just out of range.

Case moves into the clinch successfully.
Emppe gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Case.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Justin Case. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Case is trying to drag Emppe to the mat but Emppe just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Emppe tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Case avoids it.
Emppe tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Case just stands there and leans against the cage.

Case goes for a takedown in the clinch but Emppe prevents it.

Emppe throws a left and a right that both miss
and Case counters with a stiff right hand.

Case shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Case lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Emppe looking to hit a scissor sweep but Case is one step ahead there.
Emppe not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Case trying to control the position from guard on top but Emppe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Emppe wants to get back to his feet but Case is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Emppe has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Case off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Emppe throws a low kick but Case avoids it.

and Case counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Emppe is trying to stand up here but Case is controlling him well.
Case is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Case thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Emppe's head.
Case looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Emppe with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Case looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Case not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Case is controlling the pace.
Case scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Emppe pushes Case off but Case dives into side control.
Case lands some shots froms side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Case looks up at the clock and then as Emppe takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Case smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Emppe manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Emppe keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Case is trying to control. Emppe wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Case takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Justin Case dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

and Case counters with a single leg into guard. Emppe didn't expect that.

Emppe wriggles free and stands up.
Case checks the leg kick nicely there.

and Case counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Emppe!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Case has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Emppe's face.

Emppe throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

The referee warns Emppe that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Case controlling the position easily from mount.
Case postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Emppe looks a forlorn figure.
Case is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Emppe can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Case lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Case connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Case can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Emppe is looking to escape.
The referee warns Emppe that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

It looks like Mahtava Emppe has been cut.
BOOM! Case connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Case breaks from Emppe's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Case with a couple of short strikes.


Emppe is rocked!
Case looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Emppe covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
