Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Emilio Del Geno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mad Dog Vachon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vachon is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Gros jambon. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mad Dog Vachon!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vachon tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Del Geno manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Del Geno slips a jab and a cross from Vachon.
Del Geno showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Vachon.
The fight stays on the outside here - Vachon looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Vachon fails in his attempt to clinch.
Vachon throws a series of punches but Del Geno moves out of range.
Del Geno misses with a looping right.

Del Geno closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Del Geno tries to move to mount but Vachon blocks the move with his legs.

Del Geno wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vachon, who protects the arm well.
Vachon can't do much from the bottom here.
Vachon gets back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Del Geno is pressing down on Vachon's thigh, looking to free his foot. Vachon is holding on for now.

Vachon is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Del Geno pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vachon wants to improve his position but Del Geno is controlling well.
Vachon is not content to let Del Geno control the position.
Vachon is looking to control Del Geno's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Vachon avoid being mounted?

Vachon is trying to control Del Geno's posture but Del Geno avoids it.
Del Geno is looking to take a break and control but Vachon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Del Geno grinds an elbow into Vachon's temple.

Del Geno is trying to get an arm triangle but Vachon is defending well.
Del Geno tries to advance to mount but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Emilio Del Geno dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Vachon rushes Del Geno and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Del Geno misses with a punch on the inside.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Vachon.

Vachon breaks from the clinch.
Vachon scoring well with a low kick there.
Vachon avoids the body shot from Del Geno.
Vachon uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Del Geno.
Vachon turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Donk. Del Geno catches Vachon right on the button with a cross.
Mad Dog Vachon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vachon tries for a takedown but Del Geno circles away easily

and Del Geno counters with a nice double leg into side control. Vachon won't be happy with that.

Vachon tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Del Geno lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Del Geno prevents Vachon from getting the reversal.

Del Geno takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vachon tries to lock up and control but Del Geno gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Del Geno jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Vachon is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Vachon and Del Geno has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Del Geno's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Del Geno throws a right and a left that Vachon avoids nicely.
