Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Lynch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Petri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Petri has chosen Seek and Destroy as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stephen Lynch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Petri!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lynch gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Lynch fails to pull guard.
Lynch avoiding damage as Petri throws knees to the body.
Petri tries to pull guard but Lynch holds him up against the ropes and eventually Petri drops back down to his feet.
Lynch could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Lynch creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Petri is trying to stall.

Lynch has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Petri uses from the top position.
Lynch is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lynch pulls Petri in close to prevent any damage.
Lynch keeping moving, preventing Petri from controlling successfully.
Lynch controls Petri momentarily but Petri frees himself.

Petri thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Petri wants to control from the top but Lynch keeps moving.

Petri decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Ryan Petri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lynch circles away from the clinch attempt

and Lynch counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Petri escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lynch gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Lynch wants to control from the top but Petri keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Petri has his foot on Lynch's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lynch works his way back into a safe position though.
Lynch slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Lynch trying to control the position from guard on top but Petri is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Stephen Lynch just wasn't active enough.
Lynch doesn't manage to clinch there - Petri circles away.

Lynch shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lynch was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lynch controlling his opponent.
Petri is looking to improve his position but Lynch isn't that keen on the idea.
Petri tries to lock up and control but Lynch gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lynch moves to back control.
Petri looks gassed!
Petri covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Lynch lands punches and elbows.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Petri takes a big shot to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stephen Lynch dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Lynch closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Lynch lands some shots froms side control.
Lynch wants to lay and pray for a moment but Petri keeps working.

Lynch decides to stand up, so the ref orders Petri to his feet.
Lynch swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Petri wants to clinch

and Lynch counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Lynch content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lynch is stalling here. Petri is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Lynch seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Petri has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Petri is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lynch is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Petri is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lynch manages to get back to half guard.
Lynch knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Petri on the ground.
Lynch has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Petri is working away from the top position though.

Petri is trying for a kimura here. Lynch looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Petri wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ryan Petri!
