PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gorilla Pound (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Brewster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brewster has chosen Way of the Fist as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chad Brewster!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Fujiwara and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pound misses with a low kick.
Brewster keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Pound throws a body punch but Brewster moves out of range.
Gorilla Pound seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brewster closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brewster looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Pound could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pound connects with a nice short shot to Brewster's temple.

Brewster bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pound's guard.

Brewster tries to pass the half guard into mount. Pound knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
