Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gordon Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maxim Banajev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Banajev comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Arcana - Autumnal kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Maxim Banajev was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gordon Freeman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 2, fighting out of St Petersburg, Maxim Banajev!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freeman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Banajev as he avoids it easily.
Freeman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Banajev as he jumps to the side.
Freeman shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gordon Freeman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Banajev scores with the left hand. Freeman knows he should have avoided that one.
Banajev stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
It looks like Gordon Freeman has been cut.
Banajev misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Banajev leaves Freeman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Banajev lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Freeman sprawling to the canvas. Banajev follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Freeman hang on?
Freeman is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Freeman wants to control but Banajev is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Oh Freeman is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Banajev decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Freeman seems to have got his legs back now.
Freeman shoots in but Banajev avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Freeman is breathing heavily.
Freeman misses with a takedown attempt - Banajev sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Banajev smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Banajev throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Freeman tumbling to the canvas!
Freeman is rocked!
Gordon Freeman's cut is getting worse.
Banajev stands and steps away. Freeman gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Oh Freeman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Banajev stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Banajev wants it to stay on the feet.
Freeman seems to have got his legs back now.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Banajev throws a series of punches but Freeman avoids them all with ease.
Banajev throws an uppercut from hell that sends Freeman clean off his feet! He's out cold! Banajev stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Maxim Banajev!
