Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Konrad Pa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Zaharov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Igor Zaharov has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Konrad Pa's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Konrad Pa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Igor Zaharov! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zaharov looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Pa! Zaharov working the ground and pound effectively.
Zaharov moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Pa has worked his arm free - good work by Pa!
Pa tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Zaharov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Pa sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Zaharov throwing shots but Pa is blocking nicely. Zaharov missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Zaharov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Pa actively working from the bottom here. Zaharov trying to control the action but Pa is working from the bottom.

Pa is breathing heavily. Zaharov passes to side control. Pa wants to control but Zaharov postures up. Zaharov cracks Pa with a big elbow. Pa is trying to buck Zaharov off.

Zaharov is putting a hurting on Pa here, landing some big shots from side control. Pa is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Pa on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Zaharov can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pa is looking to escape. Zaharov unloading with bombs! That's four minutes gone in the round. Zaharov postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pa looks a forlorn figure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Zaharov scoring with strikes but Pa is staying in there.

Zaharov wants to control the pace but Pa is squirming around nicely. Zaharov postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pa looks a forlorn figure.

Igor Zaharov dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Zaharov moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Zaharov shoots in and gets a takedown into Pa's guard. Zaharov works over Pa with some ground and pound from guard. Zaharov tries to stand but Pa is controlling from the bottom. Zaharov cracks Pa with a solid left hand. Zaharov is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pa is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pa has escaped and now he's on top! Zaharov keeping moving, preventing Pa from controlling successfully. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zaharov not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Zaharov trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Zaharov is controlling Pa's posture. Zaharov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Konrad Pa wasn't doing enough on the ground. Zaharov closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pa did well to prevent Zaharov getting side control. Zaharov is keen to just control but Pa is a slippery customer. Zaharov misses with a head shot. Pa uses the momentum to regain guard. Pa lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Zaharov! Pa gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pa tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Zaharov paws at him with a jab and circles away. Excellent takedown into side control there by Pa. Zaharov wants to control but Pa postures up. Zaharov is looking to reverse the position. Pa looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Pa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zaharov keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zaharov is trying to control Pa's posture but Pa avoids it. Pa stands up and beckons Zaharov to his feet. Zaharov is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Konrad Pa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Pa gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Zaharov to score an easy takedown into full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Igor Zaharov will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Pa slaps away a takedown attempt from Zaharov, before circling back to the center of the mat. Pa tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Zaharov paws at him with a jab and circles away. Pa is looking to clinch. Pa drives through with a takedown into guard. Pa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zaharov swivels though and keeps the full guard. Zaharov is trying to keep Pa in close.

Pa postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Pa slips nicely into half guard. Zaharov is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Pa seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Pa wants to take a breather but Zaharov is having none of it.

Konrad Pa has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Nice takedown defense from Zaharov. No joy for Pa on that attempt. Zaharov scores with a takedown into Pa's guard. Pa preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Pa keeping moving, preventing Zaharov from controlling successfully. Pa controlling Zaharov's posture. Zaharov preventing the sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pa is looking for a triangle but Zaharov pushes his legs off easily.

Zaharov advances to half guard. Zaharov prevents Pa from improving his position. Zaharov working Pa over with strikes. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pa wants to improve his position but Zaharov is controlling well.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Konrad Pa. Well Zaharov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
