Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sean Dignam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregores Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Mendez's choice of entrance music: Paleface- Helsinki-Shangri-La. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sean Dignam! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gregores Mendez! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dignam throws a hook to the side of Mendez's head but Mendez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Mendez fails to land the takedown. Mendez swats away the attempt to clinch by Dignam. Mendez keeps the fight on the outside. Dignam throws a head kick that Mendez semi-blocks.
Dignam shoots and misses and Mendez counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dignam won't be happy with that. Dignam struggling a bit here. Dignam regains half guard. Mendez thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Dignam to regain full guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mendez's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Dignam has his foot on Mendez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mendez works his way back into a safe position though. Mendez drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dignam manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mendez has Dignam in his guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dignam throwing strikes but missing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dignam defends it easily. Mendez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dignam manages to get himself to full guard.
Dignam is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Mendez is defending against the submission attempts here by Dignam.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Dignam wants to control from the top but Mendez keeps moving. Dignam trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mendez controls Dignam momentarily but Dignam frees himself. Dignam throwing strikes from guard but Mendez blocks nicely.

Gregores Mendez has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Mendez jabs Dignam right on the nose. Dignam blinks but takes it well. Dignam gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Mendez counters with a stiff right hand. Dignam gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mendez to score an easy takedown into full guard. Dignam bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mendez's guard. Mendez looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Dignam passes into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mendez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dignam wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Mendez is not content to let Dignam control the position. Dignam throws a strike aimed at the side of Mendez's head but Mendez avoids it well. Mendez wants to control but Dignam postures up. Dignam tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dignam has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Dignam tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mendez is working to avoid the ground and pound but Dignam connects with a decent elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Sean Dignam will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
A right-left combo lands from Mendez. Dignam misses with a takedown attempt and Mendez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Dignam manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mendez manages to get himself to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mendez tries to buck Dignam off but Dignam is having none of it. Dignam trying to control the action but Mendez is working from the bottom. Dignam thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Mendez takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Dignam working the ground and pound but Mendez is defending the strikes. Mendez is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Sean Dignam just wasn't active enough. Mendez throws a nice looking combination but Dignam bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Mendez fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Mendez looks to land a combination but Dignam avoids it well. Mendez fails with the takedown and Dignam counters with a takedown into side control. Dignam lands a few punches from side control. Mendez is not content to let Dignam control the position. Dignam working away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that's the end of the fight! Sean Dignam showed his dominance in that final round. Well Dignam has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
