Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and rex man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
man misses with an attempted mid kick.
man connects with a leg kick. Griffin looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Griffin misses with the combination.
man feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
man connects with a couple of short punches.
Griffin wriggles free and stands up.

Griffin shoots in for a double leg but man sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and man makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Griffin gets control of man's arms and successfully pulls guard. Griffin will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if man can do anything to dispel that myth.
Griffin is pushing down on man's leg trying to pass to half guard. man is fighting to maintain full guard but Griffin has managed to sneak the leg through.
man is defending against the submission attempts here by Griffin.
Griffin is looking to take a break and control but man is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
