Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shunsuke Nakamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hannibal Barkas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Nakamura might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bate pesadão. Barkas has chosen Civil war as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barkas cracks Nakamura with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Shunsuke Nakamura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nakamura gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Nakamura preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Barkas wants to control from the top but Nakamura keeps moving.
Nakamura wants to get back to his feet but Barkas is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Barkas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nakamura swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Hannibal Barkas wasn't active enough on the ground.

Barkas lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Barkas takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Nakamura shoots for a takedown but Barkas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nakamura throws a nice looking combination but Barkas bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Shunsuke Nakamura is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Barkas counters with a right hand to the body.
Nakamura shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Barkas cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shunsuke Nakamura. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nakamura throws a looping overhand right but Barkas ducks down to avoid it.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Barkas has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Nakamura swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Barkas counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Nakamura's guard now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Nakamura shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Barkas counters with a single leg into guard. Nakamura didn't expect that.
Nakamura is wriggling around but Barkas manages to pass to half guard.

Nakamura looks like he's trying to stand up.
Barkas stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Nakamura to get to his feet.
Nakamura rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Barkas moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Barkas scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
It looks like Shunsuke Nakamura has been cut.
Barkas has a takedown stuffed.
Nakamura fails with a takedown attempt.
Nakamura moves away from the strike by Barkas.

Nakamura shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Barkas as he avoids it easily.
A left and a right from Nakamura both land. Nice combination.
Nakamura scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Barkas manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Barkas holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hannibal Barkas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Barkas is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Nakamura.

Nakamura shoots in and bounces Barkas off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Barkas has a closed guard, preventing Nakamura from standing up.
Barkas manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nakamura manages to get himself to full guard.
Hannibal Barkas is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Shunsuke Nakamura.
Well Barkas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
