Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pepito Manaloto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Angry Angus!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manaloto looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Angus is fending him off so far but Manaloto persists. Nope, Angus circles away and we're back to standing.
Manaloto throws a head kick that misses.
Angus swats away the attempt to clinch by Manaloto.
Manaloto misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Manaloto shoots for a double leg takedown but Angus sprawls well. He's pushed Manaloto's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pepito Manaloto. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Manaloto fails with a takedown attempt.
Manaloto shoots in and drives through. Angus sprawls well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Manaloto doesn't manage to clinch there - Angus circles away.
Manaloto swings for the body but Angus moves out of range.
Manaloto tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Angus manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Manaloto shoots in looking for a takedown but Angus manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Manaloto's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Angus bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Angus tries to score with some ground and pound. Manaloto controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Angus has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Angus working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Angus remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Let's hope that Angus has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Angus tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Angus creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Manaloto sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Angus thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Angus sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Manaloto is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Manaloto regains half guard, as Angus was trying to land strikes.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Manaloto is breathing heavily.
I looks like Angus might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Manaloto is in trouble now - Angus has advanced to mount!
Manaloto is looking to improve his position but Angus isn't that keen on the idea.

Angus is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Manaloto is surviving well by controlling Angus's body position as best he can.
Manaloto avoids a series of strikes thrown by Angus.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Angus controlling his opponent.
Angus thowing shots but they're missing.
Angus looking to ground and pound but Manaloto is blocking nicely.
Angus misses with a head shot.
Angus throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Angus sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Angus looking to finish with strikes here!

Angus is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Angus!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Angry Angus!
