Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ken Rodgers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bubba Gump!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gump keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rodgers.
The crowd cheers as Rodgers lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gump doesn't seem phased though.
Gump tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Rodgers is able to avoid easily.
Rodgers throws a looping overhand right but Gump ducks down to avoid it.
Gump will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gump uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rodgers.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Gump.
Gump shoots in looking for a takedown but Rodgers manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gump's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gump tries to clinch up.
Rodgers stuffs the takedown.
Gump is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Gump slips under a jab from Rodgers.
Horrible takedown by Gump or perhaps it was just good defense by Rodgers which made him look bad.
Ken Rodgers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bubba Gump.
Gump throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Gump shoots in but Rodgers avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A telegraphed right hand from Rodgers misses the target.
Rodgers keeps the fight on the outside.

Rodgers closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rodgers lands in his opponent's guard.

Rodgers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rodgers seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Rodgers might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Rodgers postures up and lands a big shot to Gump's brow.
Rodgers postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rodgers is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Rodgers's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Gump looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Rodgers has picked Gump up and slammed him! Gump can't keep hold of the triangle and Rodgers manages to pass to side control!

Gump really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rodgers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Rodgers counters with a single leg into guard. Gump didn't expect that.

Gump has momentary wrist control but Rodgers slips an elbow through the middle.

Rodgers lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rodgers looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gump with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Rodgers perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Rodgers slips a nice elbow through Gump's hands, connecting with Gump's forehead.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gump on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Rodgers moves nicely into side control.

Ken Rodgers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Rodgers lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
A lull in the action here as Rodgers stalls from top position.
Gump tries to buck Rodgers off but Rodgers is having none of it.
Gump takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Rodgers is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gump can do to turn this around?

Gump seems a little lost for a moment, as Rodgers dominates the positioning.

Rodgers has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Gump!

Rodgers is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gump can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Gump is rocked!
Rodgers has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Gump's face.
Gump is still in real trouble! Can Rodgers finish him?
Rodgers postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Gump badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Rodgers around the waist but Rodgers pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Rodgers is the winner by TKO! Rodgers jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ken Rodgers!
