Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Scabby Bat! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Northcote drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bat is trying to control Northcote's posture but Northcote avoids it. Northcote working the ground and pound. Northcote throwing shots but missing, from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bat sneaks back into half guard. Northcote prevents Bat from improving his position. Bat is refusing to be controlled, as Northcote sits in half guard. Bat wants to control but Northcote is keeping busy and won't allow it. Northcote controlling the pace. Northcote seems to be working for a kimura but Bat defends the submission attempt.

Northcote is just content to waste time from the top position. Bat takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Bat is trying to keep Northcote in close.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bat looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Northcote puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Northcote is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Bat still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Bat has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Northcote manages to get back to half guard. Bat is looking to pass Northcote's guard but actually Northcote recovers to full guard. Northcote is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bat defends well. Bat manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Bat avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Northcote escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bat gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Northcote is trying to keep Bat in close.
Northcote has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Northcote has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bat is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Northcote. Northcote tries to improve position but can't. You can see the frustration on Northcote's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Bat scores with punches from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sarah Northcote dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Bat is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Northcote off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Northcote looking for the choke but no joy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
