Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Richard Wellington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor Koppenhaver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Trevor Koppenhaver was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wellington tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Koppenhaver was well out of range. Poor timing from Wellington. Koppenhaver shoots in for a takedown but Wellington shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Wellington looks to land a right hand but Koppenhaver moved out of range. Wellington stuffs the takedown attempt from Koppenhaver. Koppenhaver gets slowly back to his feet. Wellington looks to throw the jab but Koppenhaver is out of range. Koppenhaver misses with a takedown attempt - Wellington sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Koppenhaver walks into a stiff left hand from Wellington. Wellington works Koppenhaver's body with a nice hook. Koppenhaver throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Wellington. Koppenhaver throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Wellington throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Wellington misses with an uppercut. Koppenhaver saw that one coming. Wellington misses with a straight right. Koppenhaver uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wellington. Koppenhaver shoots in for a takedown but Wellington shows good takedown defense. Koppenhaver shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wellington sprawls well. Wellington wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Koppenhaver gets slowly back to his feet. Wellington cracks Koppenhaver with an open hand slap. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Wellington stuffs the takedown. Koppenhaver shoots in looking for a takedown but Wellington manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Koppenhaver's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wellington rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Koppenhaver moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Koppenhaver shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wellington pinned against the cage. Wellington gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Wellington stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Wellington lands with a good body shot. Koppenhaver shoots in but no luck this time. Koppenhaver drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Wellington lands a jab to the head.
Wellington scores with a decent looking hook. Koppenhaver is trying desperately to land a takedown but Wellington is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Koppenhaver. The fighters circle momentarily. Wellington darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wellington throws a series of punches but Koppenhaver avoids them all with ease. Wellington misses with a wild body shot. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Wellington stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wellington wants it to stay on the feet. Richard Wellington has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trevor Koppenhaver. Koppenhaver will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Wellington loads up on a big right hand but Koppenhaver slips the punch. Koppenhaver looks for a takedown but Wellington sprawls well. Richard Wellington is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Wellington stuffs the takedown. Wellington scores with a body shot.
Koppenhaver looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Wellington lands with an uppercut that bounces Koppenhaver off the cage and back into rage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Koppenhaver does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Koppenhaver shoots for a double leg takedown but Wellington sprawls well. He's pushed Koppenhaver's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Horrible takedown by Koppenhaver or perhaps it was just good defense by Wellington which made him look bad. Wellington misses with a straight left. Koppenhaver doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Koppenhaver shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wellington as he avoids it easily. Koppenhaver darts in trying to clinch and Wellington counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wellington stuffs the takedown. Wellington slaps away a takedown attempt from Koppenhaver, before circling back to the center of the mat. Koppenhaver scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Wellington tries to improve position but can't. Koppenhaver in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Wellington trying to remain calm as Koppenhaver controls from the top position. Koppenhaver throwing shots but missing, from side control. Koppenhaver decides to stand back up. Koppenhaver closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Koppenhaver keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wellington looks to land a left hand but Koppenhaver moved out of range nicely. Koppenhaver tries to close the distance and clinch but Wellington swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Koppenhaver ducks under a wild hook from Wellington. Koppenhaver throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Wellington sees it coming and avoids it easily. Koppenhaver rushes Wellington and presses him up against the cage. Wellington working aggressively here.

Wellington can't find room to land a body shot as Koppenhaver controls the action.
Wellington is pressed up against the cage. Koppenhaver has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Wellington down to the mat. Wellington avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Wellington stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wellington wants it to stay on the feet. Wellington clinches with his opponent.

Richard Wellington dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Wellington is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Koppenhaver defending well as Wellington loads up on a big left hand. Wellington darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Wellington dips to his left and cracks Koppenhaver with an uppercut! Koppenhaver shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Wellington counters with a nice uppercut. Koppenhaver looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Wellington lands with an uppercut that bounces Koppenhaver off the cage and back into rage. Richard Wellington is winning the standup battle so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Koppenhaver looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Wellington! Koppenhaver working for a submission but Wellington is keeping him at bay. Koppenhaver has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koppenhaver controlling the pace for now. Wellington is trying desperately to improve position. Wellington is working hard here to advance position. Koppenhaver lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Wellington avoids a series of strikes thrown by Koppenhaver.
Wellington defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Koppenhaver. Koppenhaver is stalling here but it's allowed Wellington to get half guard.
Wellington moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Wellington keeping moving, preventing Koppenhaver from controlling successfully. Koppenhaver passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Koppenhaver trying to control the action but Wellington is working from the bottom. Sloppy strikes there by Koppenhaver. Koppenhaver tries to advance to mount but can't. Koppenhaver tries to score with some ground and pound. Wellington controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Koppenhaver working the ground and pound from side control. Wellington is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Koppenhaver has just dragged him back down to the mat. Wellington dodges the ground and pound from Koppenhaver. You can see the frustration on Wellington's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Koppenhaver sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Wellington is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Koppenhaver swings around for an armbar but Wellington sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Koppenhaver's guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Koppenhaver wants to sweep but no luck. Trevor Koppenhaver has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wellington wants to stand but Koppenhaver is controlling his posture from full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Trevor Koppenhaver comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Wellington has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
