Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Phoenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirk Harvath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phoenix comes to the cage accompanied by Dream Big - Crooked I feat Akon. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcus Phoenix! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dirk Harvath! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harvath moves out of range of the body kick. Phoenix misses with a few strikes there.
Phoenix misses with a looping left. Phoenix loads up on a big right hand but Harvath slips the punch. Phoenix misses the shot to the body. Phoenix misses with a series of wild punches.
Harvath checks a leg kick. Phoenix swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Phoenix scores with the left hand. Harvath knows he should have avoided that one. Marcus Phoenix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Harvath avoids the body shot from Phoenix.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A clash of legs there as Phoenix blocks the low kick. Phoenix looks to score with a jab to the body but Harvath is just out of range. Phoenix is looking to wear down Harvath with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. It looks like Dirk Harvath has been cut. Harvath avoids the body shot from Phoenix.
Harvath has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Harvath there as he acknowledges the shot. Phoenix throws the kick towards the body but Harvath avoids it. Nice body punch from Harvath. Phoenix throws a jab when Harvath was well out of range. Harvath throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Harvath throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Harvath keeps the fight on the outside. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Harvath, right into the meat.
Phoenix tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Harvath manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Harvath with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Phoenix bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Harvath's head backwards. A punch lands to the side of Phoenix 's head but he takes it in his stride.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Phoenix connects with a good right hand that stumbles Harvath. Harvath circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Phoenix throws a right and a left that Harvath avoids nicely. Harvath defending well as Phoenix loads up on a big left hand. Harvath misses with a low kick.
Harvath looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. A left lands for Harvath. Harvath throws a head kick that misses. Harvath wants to land a leg kick but Phoenix is out of range. Phoenix scoring well with a low kick there.
Phoenix scores with a nice head shot. No joy there for Phoenix, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Phoenix scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Harvath has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Phoenix finds it's way round the side to connect with Harvath's head. Harvath throws a leg kick but Phoenix moved away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Phoenix pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Phoenix misses with a two punch combination.
Phoenix with a hook. Harvath wants to land a leg kick but Phoenix is out of range. Harvath lands with a slapping head kick. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Harvath lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Phoenix has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Phoenix and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Harvath pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Phoenix on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Phoenix is breathing heavily. Phoenix throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Harvath throws a solid leg kick but Phoenix takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Harvath. Harvath takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. This has been an exciting period of action! Harvath misses with a low kick. Harvath tries a low kick but Phoenix avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harvath uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Phoenix.
Phoenix jabs Harvath to the body, keeping him at a distance. Harvath is looking to score with low kicks. A low kick from Harvath misses and Phoenix counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Harvath thinking. Phoenix checks a leg kick. Phoenix fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Phoenix stuns Harvath with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Phoenix throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Phoenix throws a low kick but it's checked well by Harvath. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Harvath blocks a low kick nicely. Phoenix misses with a kick to the body.
Phoenix ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Harvath moves away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Dirk Harvath will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Dirk Harvath's cut. That's time! Back to the action!

Harvath motions for Phoenix to come forward. Harvath throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Phoenix lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Phoenix looks to land a combination but Harvath avoids it well. Phoenix is looking to clinch. Phoenix tries to land a body kick and Harvath counters with an outside leg kick.
Phoenix just misses with a punch to the body.
Harvath motions for Phoenix to come forward. Harvath throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Phoenix checks a leg kick. Phoenix throws a one two combo.
Phoenix stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Harvath. Harvath takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harvath throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Phoenix throws a head kick that Harvath semi-blocks.

and Harvath counters with a low kick, right behind Phoenix 's knee. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Harvath avoids the body shot from Phoenix.
Phoenix scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Harvath throws a solid leg kick but Phoenix takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Harvath. Phoenix misses with a series of wild punches.
Harvath throws a head kick that misses. Harvath sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Phoenix to the ground! Harvath dives into full mount looking to finish!
It looks like Marcus Phoenix has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Harvath has hold of Phoenix's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Phoenix manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Phoenix tries to hold on but Harvath pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harvath is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Phoenix has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Harvath working for a submission but Phoenix is keeping him at bay. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Harvath fails to take his opponent's back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Phoenix is trying to escape the mount.
Harvath goes for an armbar but Phoenix turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Phoenix. Phoenix passes Harvath's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Harvath is controlling Phoenix's trapped leg to prevent Phoenix from advancing to side control. Phoenix is just content to waste time from the top position. Harvath takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harvath keeping full guard, as Phoenix tries to pass. Harvath working a defensive guard here.
Phoenix trying to move into half guard but instead Harvath has managed to sweep! Phoenix is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Phoenix keeping full guard, as Harvath tries to pass. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Harvath is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Phoenix is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Phoenix has escaped and now he's on top! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dirk Harvath showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Harvath keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Phoenix. Phoenix tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Harvath was well out of range. Poor timing from Phoenix. Harvath's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Harvath duly obliges. Phoenix throws a leg kick that is checked and Harvath counters with an outside leg kick.

Harvath displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Phoenix throws out the jab. Harvath checks a low kick from Phoenix. Phoenix scores with a decent looking hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. Phoenix throws a jab when Harvath was well out of range. Harvath slips under a jab. Phoenix lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Harvath circles away quickly and effectively. Phoenix missing with a left hand there. Harvath was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Jab, jab by Harvath - just one landing. Phoenix just misses with a punch to the body.
Harvath throws the kick towards the body but Phoenix avoids it. A solid leg kick lands there for Phoenix.
Phoenix looks to clinch and Harvath counters with a nice body kick. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Harvath pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Harvath slips under a jab from Phoenix. Phoenix fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Harvath is out of range. Harvath throws an overhand right that lands on Phoenix's shoulder, as Phoenix tries to avoid the shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Phoenix misses the shot to the body. Harvath will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Phoenix throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Phoenix lands a jab to the nose. Phoenix throws a right and a left that Harvath avoids nicely. Phoenix misses with a few strikes there.
Harvath thows a body kick. Phoenix tries to catch it but that hurt him. Harvath walks into a straight right hand from Phoenix. Harvath connects with a solid leg kick. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Harvath throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Harvath lands with a straight right. Phoenix didn't see that one coming. Harvath fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Phoenix has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Harvath. Harvath throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Phoenix slips a jab from Harvath. A head kick by Phoenix misses and Harvath counters with a leg kick. Harvath looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Harvath backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Phoenix's temple! It sends Phoenix violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Harvath celebrates and the doctors try to help Phoenix!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Dirk Harvath! Dirk Harvath retains his light heavyweight title!
