The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thornton avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Santos fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Thornton manages to avoid it.
Thornton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Santos.
Santos throws a nice looking combination but Thornton bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nice uppercut lands for Thornton. That snapped Santos's head back.
Thornton cracks Santos with an open hand slap.
Santos shoots in for a takedown but Thornton shows good takedown defense.
Thornton blocks a head kick by Santos.
Thornton lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Thornton misses with a two punch combination.
Thornton takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Santos fails with a takedown attempt.
Thornton fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Santos to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Santos looks to clinch but Thornton throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Santos taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
