The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reed looks to land a right hand but Nahasapeemapetilon moved out of range. Reed has a takedown stuffed. Nahasapeemapetilon bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Nahasapeemapetilon sizes up Reed with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Some wild striking there from Nahasapeemapetilon.
Reed shoots for a double leg takedown but Nahasapeemapetilon sprawls well. He's pushed Reed's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Reed ducks under a wild hook from Nahasapeemapetilon. Reed is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Nahasapeemapetilon. Reed throws a shot from downtown. Reed is working away from the top position though. Reed is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Reed pulls Nahasapeemapetilon in to control the position. Nahasapeemapetilon trying to control but Reed is working from the bottom. Nahasapeemapetilon throwing strikes but missing. Nahasapeemapetilon gets to his feet - Reed follows without any prompting. Nice shot by Nahasapeemapetilon. Reed looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nahasapeemapetilon wants to get back to his feet.
Reed is trying to work for a kimura but Nahasapeemapetilon is defending well.

That was a close round but I would say that Matt Reed will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Reed shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nahasapeemapetilon pinned against the cage. Nahasapeemapetilon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Nahasapeemapetilon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Reed displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nahasapeemapetilon throws out the jab. Reed misses with a hook. Reed throws a hook but Nahasapeemapetilon avoids it easily. Nahasapeemapetilon lands with a shot to the body. Nahasapeemapetilon throws a hook to the side of Reed's head but Reed sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Nahasapeemapetilon lands a big right hand that sends Reed crashing to the mat! Nahasapeemapetilon stays standing though and waves Reed back to his feet!
Reed is rocked! Reed staying out of range there. Reed dives in and grabs Nahasapeemapetilon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nahasapeemapetilon pushes down on Reed's head and hops out. Nahasapeemapetilon throws a lazy right hand but Reed sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nahasapeemapetilon staying out of range there. Reed looks to land a right hand but Nahasapeemapetilon moved out of range. Nahasapeemapetilon ducks under a wild hook from Reed. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Reed is defended easily by Nahasapeemapetilon. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Reed. That's going to take a lot out of him. Reed slips a jab from Nahasapeemapetilon. Reed misses with a shot to the body and Nahasapeemapetilon counters with a lovely straight right hand! Nahasapeemapetilon ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A big right from Nahasapeemapetilon misses. Reed slips under a jab from Nahasapeemapetilon. The fighters circling - Nahasapeemapetilon throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Reed defending well as Nahasapeemapetilon loads up on a big left hand. Nahasapeemapetilon cracks Reed on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Reed falls backwards against the cage. Nahasapeemapetilon follows up with more strikes that drop Reed to his knees. Nahasapeemapetilon keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Reed! This one is all over!
