Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Irwin Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abdul Nassim de Monte Cristo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying de Monte Cristo's choice of entrance music: AC/DC - Hell's Bells. Abdul Nassim de Monte Cristo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Irwin Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Abdul Nassim de Monte Cristo! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! de Monte Cristo tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range. Silva drives through with a takedown into guard. Silva passes de Monte Cristo's left leg - he's now in half guard. Silva is sneakily working for an arm triangle but de Monte Cristo sees it coming and defends easily. de Monte Cristo is trying to stand back up but Silva is controlling him
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Silva frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. de Monte Cristo squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Silva tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Silva seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down de Monte Cristo for as long as he can get away with. de Monte Cristo is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Silva controlling the pace for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. de Monte Cristo bucks up and throws Silva to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape! de Monte Cristo has managed to clinch.

With the fighters up against the ropes, de Monte Cristo throws an elbow but misses. Silva fails to pull guard.

de Monte Cristo throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Silva blocks it with crossed arms. Silva looking for a takedown. de Monte Cristo tries to land a knee to the head but Silva blocks with his arms.

Silva is working for takedown but de Monte Cristo is calmly controlling the position for now. Silva tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. de Monte Cristo smiles and moves away.
de Monte Cristo wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance. Silva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Silva fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Silva tries to clinch up. Silva wants to clinch. de Monte Cristo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and de Monte Cristo wants it to stay on the feet. Silva circles away from the clinch attempt and Silva counters with a shoot takedown. de Monte Cristo fights it but they end up in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Silva passes into half guard. Silva is taking a breather. de Monte Cristo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We're going to have a standup here because Irwin Silva wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. de Monte Cristo closes the distance but Silva moves to the side and Silva counters with a takedown into side control. de Monte Cristo seems a little lost for a moment, as Silva dominates the positioning.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but de Monte Cristo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. de Monte Cristo is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Silva has just dragged him back down to the mat. Silva thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Silva moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. de Monte Cristo bucks up and tries to throw Silva off but instead Silva has got his back! Silva trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure de Monte Cristo doesn't escape. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. de Monte Cristo is looking to escape but he's done so without protecting himself and Silva manages to counter with a nice rear naked choke! de Monte Cristo is in trouble and he's forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Irwin Silva!
