The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva moves into the clinch.
Silva tries to pull guard but Phillips won't allow it.

Phillips has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Silva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Phillips avoids a series of strikes thrown by Silva.
Silva throwing strikes here but Phillips is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Silva jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Phillips is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Phillips and Silva has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Silva goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Phillips has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Silva but great work by Phillips.

Silva is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Phillips's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Phillips's back!
