Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Terrence Young! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michal Cegla! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cegla tries to close the distance and clinch up but Young swats him away and circles back towards the center. Young looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Cegla tries to clinch but Young moves out of range. Cegla connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Cegla leaves Young with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Cegla shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Young's guard. Cegla slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Young keeping full guard, as Cegla tries to pass. Cegla would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Cegla decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Young, up you get! Cegla moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cegla scores a takedown into full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Cegla looking to control and managing it successfully. Cegla wants to finish this one by submission but Young is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Cegla. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cegla controlling from the full mount. Cegla is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Young to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Young shrugs it off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cegla moves to the back. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Cegla throwing damaging strikes from the back! Young could be in trouble here!
Cegla scores with punches and elbows. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cegla controls the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cegla lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Cegla.
Cegla is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Young won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Cegla off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Michal Cegla!
