The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Mazalitis or perhaps it was just good defense by Sparmaqua which made him look bad.
Mazalitis closes the distance and clinches up with Sparmaqua, looking for a takedown. Mazalitis pushes Sparmaqua against the cage but Sparmaqua circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Sparmaqua is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mazalitis is just riding it out for now. Sparmaqua eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sparmaqua is keen to just control but Mazalitis is a slippery customer.
