Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Karpushev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergey Verhnevolsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Sergey Verhnevolsky was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karpushev throws a head kick but Verhnevolsky moves out of range.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Karpushev.
Verhnevolsky manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Verhnevolsky is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Verhnevolsky is trying to maintain the position but Karpushev is very close to passing his half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Verhnevolsky tries to hold on but Karpushev pushes him away.

Karpushev pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Karpushev takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Karpushev lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
