Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Vessey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rennon Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rennon Silva is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bryan Vessey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rennon Silva!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vessey closes the distance and clinches.
Vessey is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Vessey fails to pull guard.

Silva has Vessey pressed against the cage, preventing Vessey from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Silva is trying to break the clinch but Vessey has him pressed against the cage.
Vessey avoiding damage as Silva throws knees to the body.
Vessey tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Vessey's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Silva tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Vessey just stands there and leans against the cage.
Vessey creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Silva's defenses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vessey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Silva looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vessey is fending him off so far but Silva persists. Nope, Vessey circles away and we're back to standing.

Vessey forces Silva back against the cage and clinches.
Silva jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Vessey walks away with a smile on his face. Silva gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Vessey tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Silva manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Vessey is pushing Silva up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Vessey tries to pull guard but Silva holds him up against the cage and eventually Vessey drops back down to his feet.
Silva is trying to push Vessey away but Vessey has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Vessey is pressed up against the cage. Silva has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Vessey down to the mat. Vessey avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Silva tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Vessey smiles and moves away.

Vessey moves into range and clinches up with Silva.

Silva is trying to drag Vessey to the mat but Vessey just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Vessey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vessey drives through and clinches with Silva against the cage.

Bryan Vessey dominated that round.
That's time! Vessey's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Vessey throws a lazy body kick
and Silva counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Silva.
A bit of stalling here from Vessey.
Vessey has had enough of the clinch but Silva keeps him there for the moment.
Vessey misses with some punches.
Silva has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Vessey avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Silva ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Silva no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Silva is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vessey can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Silva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vessey gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Silva is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Vessey is aware though and is defending well.

A close second round but Rennon Silva will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Vessey moves out of range of the body kick.
Vessey swinging wildly here.
Vessey circles away from the clinch attempt
and Vessey counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Silva is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Vessey's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Vessey's back!
You can see the frustration on Vessey's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Vessey is working hard here to advance position.
Vessey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
Silva is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Vessey is tapping out! This one is all over!
