Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Miroslav Olipko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Phillips! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Roberts and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Olipko. Olipko shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Phillips sprawls well. Phillips wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Olipko gets slowly back to his feet. Phillips cracks Olipko with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Phillips stuns Olipko with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Phillips scores with a shot to the body.
Phillips throws out a powerful jab. Phillips fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Phillips stalks Olipko and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Olipko's face. Olipko staggers backwards, shaken. John Phillips seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Olipko on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Olipko takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Olipko shoots for a takedown but Phillips saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miroslav Olipko. That's going to take a lot out of him. Phillips throws a combination. Olipko tries to block but a couple of punches get through. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Phillips scores with a punch to the head. Olipko is breathing heavily. Phillips lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Phillips. Phillips lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Phillips throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Phillips lands with an uppercut that bounces Olipko off the cage and back into rage. Phillips slaps away a takedown attempt from Olipko, before circling back to the center of the mat. Olipko takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Phillips lands with a nice combination. Olipko backs away looking to recover.
Olipko is rocked! Phillips lands a nice looking body shot.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Phillips!
Oh Olipko is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's one minute gone in the round. Phillips drops Olipko with a big left hand! Olipko is injured, injured bad! Phillips jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
