Couture has chosen Amazing as his entrance music. Couture has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Joe Atkins could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Randy Couture's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Couture. Atkins does a little dance to reset his feet.
Couture takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Atkins cracks Couture with an uppercut from hell and Couture crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Atkins's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Atkins stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Couture is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Couture seems to have recovered his senses.
Atkins throws a series of strikes that have Couture backpedaling.

Atkins wants to finish this one by submission but Couture is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Atkins.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee warns Couture that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
